Scott Jones
Scott Jones and the companies he has built have made significant contributions to technology worldwide. After leaving his position as a Research Scientist at MIT's Artificial Intelligence Laboratory in 1986, Mr. Jones co-founded and chaired until 1992 his first company, Boston Technology, Inc. Using his patented voice-messaging technologies, Boston Technology became very successful and later merged with Comverse Technologies (NASDAQ:CMVT), resulting in a multi-billion-dollar company whose products continue to rely on Mr. Jones' patented technologies. Those products are used by the majority of telephone companies throughout the world and by more than 500 million end-user customers.

In 1996, Mr. Jones co-founded Escient, Inc. in Indianapolis and applied his technological savvy and business acumen toward the realization of a parallel vision - merging Internet power with electronic appliances and devices. After fourteen acquisitions during a period of five years, Mr. Jones oversaw, as Chairman, all corporate activities at the six Escient-related companies, successfully incubating industry-leading companies. In 2003, Mr. Jones merged two of these companies into D&M Holdings, Inc. (TSE II: 6735), which owns brands including Denon, Marantz, McIntosh, ReplayTV, and Rio. Mr. Jones still serves as Chairman of Berkeley-based, Gracenote, Inc., Los Gatos-based Powerfile, Inc., and ET, LLC, an Indianapolis-based management company.
Mr. Jones is also Chairman of Gazelle TechVentures, an Indianapolis-based venture capital fund, and GrowIndiana Media Ventures, a multi-media firm specializing in the dissemination of business and technology news. He has served as the Chairman of the Indiana Technology Partnership where his vision for the future has resulted in significant progress for the state. Mr. Jones holds a BS with Honors from Indiana University and Honorary Doctorates in Computer Science from Indiana University and in Engineering from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology.
